Comic Book Art
Jeffrey Catherine Jones (American, b. 1944): is an American artist whose illustration work is perhaps best known from the late sixties onward. Jones created over 150 paperback covers for many different genres, though most often for the science fiction and fantasy genres. In the early seventies Jones created his strip Idyl for National Lampoon, and from 1975 to 1979, Jones shared a work space in Manhattan’s Chelsea district with fellow artists Bernie Wrightson, Barry Smith, and Michael W. Kaluta. The group became collectively known as The Studio. By the early eighties Jones had a recurring strip in Heavy Metal titled I'm Age. However, a growing interest in expressionism led Jones to make a transition away from his commercial work and into fine art
