Wally Wood, Jeffrey Catherine Jones, and Bernie Wrightson "Mother Earth" Unpublished Story Pages Original Art Group of 9 (c. 1970s). A lost gem of 1970s science fiction, "Mother Earth" is one of two stories commissioned by Jim Warren for Pow magazine before the project was shelved in favor of 1984. Wally Wood wrote and thumbnailed the story, while Jeff Jones fully illustrated it with her signature elegance shaped by her acclaimed fantasy covers and time with The Studio. These nine unpublished pages follow a Martian's awakening in Earth's pleasure-driven yet authoritarian future. Page 8 features expressive inks by fellow Studio great Bernie Wrightson, enhancing the emotional weight of a tale steeped in rebellion and discovery. A rare collaboration between giants of the era, this is a powerful slice of comic history that blends social commentary with timeless science fiction themes. Created in ink and Zipatone over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 29" x 21" for the double page spread, and 11.5" x 16.5" for the rest of the pages. All pages signed by Jones, Page 8 signed by Wrightson. Lightly toned, Zipatone has yellowed, spot stains, and handling wear. In Very Good condition.
