A book that is surprisingly rare in high-grade condition -- less than 10 percent of the nearly 2,300 currently certified by CGC grade NM 9.4 or better. It contains the origin and first appearance of the Defenders (Hulk, Sub-Mariner, and Dr. Strange), the "death" of Yandroth, and a Doctor Strange backup story featuring his nemesis Baron Mordo. The cover is by Neal Adams and story art is by Ross Andru, Bill Everett, Don Heck, and Frank Giacoia. Overstreet 2024 NM- 9.2 value = $900.
