Synopsis: Dr. Macabre gets wind of pearls being engineered in an oyster bed and plans to steal them, but Cat-Man and Kitten foil his plans. The last panel shows Dr. Macabre in a broken bathysphere in shark-infested waters. Is this his end?

Notes: Cat-Man's true last name is spelled "Merryweather" in the story. Art and script identification by Mark Stratton original scanner. Bill Black has identified this story as being drawn by Max Elkan (December 2012). Cat-Man's next appearance is in Femforce #29 (AC, 1983 series). One more issue would confirm if Dr. Macabre really died, but the series ended.

Notes: Last appearance. Per Anthony Durrant (April 4, 2006): " In frames five, six, and seven of page seven, there are several errors: the Deacon's suit is green in frame five, and in frames six and seven, Mrs. Langdon Hughes's lines are in a voice balloon above the head of Wilma Childs/Miss Brighton, Mrs. Langdon Hughes's nurse. Apparently, the writer was going to have Wilma Childs elucidate the mystery, or at least say something, but at the last minute her dialogue was replaced with that of Mrs. Langdon Hughes, to show that Mrs. Hughes had recovered."
