Description

Bob Kane - Batman Hand-Colored Print (1982). Presented here is a moody homage to Golden Age great Bob Kane's original cover for Detective Comics #31 (DC, 1939), signed by the Batman co-creator himself, and reimagined with a fresh new color palette! Instantly evocative of the famous cover, this print captures the gothic tone of the original, with subtle variations to the landscape, moon placement, and the Monk -- who is now brandishing a weapon instead of carrying a woman. The print has been hand-colored using mixed media with a visible image area of 8" x 9.75", matted and framed to 12" x 14". Watercolor has been applied over a previous inscription in the left image area; a separate inscription remains visible on the right. The piece is signed and dated to the left. Some staining is present. Presents in Very Good condition. Note: Only the color work here is original art.

More Information: EDIT: Description updated to note that this is a hand-colored print. The only original art is the color work.
