Steve Lang Wing Commander II: Vengeance of the Kilrathi Unreleased Super Nintendo Video Game Original Box Art (FCI, c.1995). Wing Commander II debuted on PCs in 1991, following the breakout success of the original Wing Commander game. A port was slated to be released on the Super Nintendo in 1995 by FCI, but it was ultimately cancelled. The planned port was highlighted in the May 1995 issue of GamePro magazine, where an image of the title screen was shown. This title screen image was adapted from this painted artwork, which was intended to be the game's cover art. This breathtaking painting offers a rare glimpse into an unreleased video game from a notable series. It depicts a colorful, action-packed outer space battle scene, showcasing the grandeur of the Wing Commander universe. Rendered in acrylics on Crescent all-media board measuring 20" x 17," it is signed and dated by the artist along the bottom border.
