Steinar Lund Phantom Fighter Original Computer Game Cover Art (Emerald Software, 1988). This original Phantom Fighter cover painting by Steinar Lund, created for the 1988 PC game release, is a striking mixed-media work on Schoellershammer art board measuring 26 x 20 inches (image area 24 x 17.25). The composition spans the full layout, extending to include the artwork used for the game's back cover as well. The vividly surreal work depicts a futuristic desert battlefield, where a green, oblong craft plummets toward a scorched, skeletal landscape under a brilliant blue sky, as explosions and debris punctuate the scene with kinetic energy. Included are the original plastic overlay and paper protection sheet, as well as six photocopies of Lund's preliminary sketches, offering a glimpse into the artist's creative process. The board shows minor corner wear, but the art itself remains in excellent condition.Auction Info
