Pokemon Blue Version - Wata 9.4 A++ Sealed [Sandshrew, "Blue" text, Early Production], GB Nintendo 1998 USA. Heritage offered its very first sealed copy of this variant of Pokemon Blue just a few months back in the January 2021 Signature Auction. That Wata 8.5 A+ copy had no shortage of interested bidders, and, based on its performance at auction, we can only imagine the sort of competition this copy will inspire. With that said, some individuals believe that the box style with the Sandshrew may have been unique to a particular region of production, and that there was a contemporaneous production run with Rattata manufactured at a different facility. Regardless of whether or not this theory is true, one thing is for sure - the Sandshrew copy stands out amongst its Rattata-clad peers because it was a design that was removed for the last production run of the title.
