    Earliest Production God of War

God of War - Wata 9.6 A+ Sealed [Sony Security Strip], PS2 Sony 2005 USA. A standard release Wata 9.6 A+ copy of God of War that sold for $3,120 was quite likely, one of the most talked about lots in one of our recent weekly auctions. That copy did not have the Sony security strip along the top of the box, underneath the plastic wrap, like this one does. The presence of this strip, for this title, indicates a copy is from the earliest production run of the game. Chronologically, this is the first variant of the title. God of War is the first installment in one of the most popular PlayStation-exclusive hack and slash series created to date, and also marks the first appearance of the protagonist Kratos. This title, heavily influenced by Greek mythology, is the 11th best-selling PS2 game at 4.6 million copies sold, and won several "Game of the Year" awards in its time.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
