Final Fantasy IX - CGC 9.9 A+ Sealed, PS1 SquareSoft 2000 JPN. Released on July 7, 2000, the Japanese version of Final Fantasy IX represents the first edition of the game, launching four months ahead of its North American counterpart, and this is a gorgeous copy. Directed by series veteran Hiroyuki Ito and graced with a richly emotive score by legendary composer Nobuo Uematsu, the game blended nostalgic charm with modern design. Praised for its intricate storytelling, memorable cast of characters, and polished turn-based combat system, it also introduced a host of clever mini-games and customization mechanics. The distinct character designs by Yoshitaka Amano and Toshiyuki Itahana gave the world of Gaia a timeless, storybook aesthetic, and the touching theme, "Melodies of Life," was performed by acclaimed vocalist Emiko Shiratori.
