Super Mario Bros. - Wata 8.0 A Sealed [Hangtab, 3 Code, Mid-Production], NES Nintendo 1985 USA. To date, the most highly contested lots in our video game auctions have usually featured everyone's favorite Italian plumber, Mario. When it comes to his history, it would be difficult to argue there are many other titles that are as pivotal as the first game in the Super Mario Bros. series, which kickstarted the ubiquitous side-scrolling platformer genre. Collectors who are passionate about packaging variants and each variant's level of scarcity have often mentioned to us the improbability of coming across a sealed "hangtab" copy of any NES game "in the wild," much less a nicely preserved example like this one. It looks absolutely brilliant! The gently loved corners scarcely affect the eye-appeal, and in general it looks about as good as new. For any collector looking to secure an elusive "hangtab" for themselves, this stellar example is nothing short of centerpiece quality. Note: the front white scuffing below "Nintendo Entertainment System" is on the internal Wata case - not the game's seal.PSA Population Report
