Copy Previously Unknown to Collectors

Super Mario Bros. 3 - Wata 9.2 A+ Sealed ["Bros." Left, First Production], NES Nintendo 1990 USA. We're often amazed -- and baffled -- by the sort of market-fresh finds that come through our doors, and this is up there with the best of them. Copies of this game with "Bros." formatted to the left on the front of the box (on top of Mario's glove) are very rarely found in sealed condition, and many collectors have been on the lookout for years, but often come up dry. Most collectors usually never fulfill their quest, and opt for a very nice complete in box version instead. When a sealed copy does come along, it brings a hefty premium compared to the later "right Bros." version, as this version is considerably more rare. For perspective, we have only offered one sealed Wata 9.0 A copy of this variant prior to this sale, and it sold for an all-in price of $38,400 in our July 2020 Signature Auction. This copy is about to drop some jaws! Previously unknown to the collecting community, and a high grade to boot. There are no significant marks that detract from its overall eye appeal. Please note, the scuffing around the "3" on the box is on the Wata blister inside the case and is not reflective of the actual condition of the game box or its seal.
