Super Mario Bros. 3 - VGA 85 NM+ Qualified ["Bros." Left, First Production], NES Nintendo 1990 USA. This is a special copy of Super Mario Bros. 3, with only eight examples of this variant appearing on VGA's February census. It is from the first production run, identifiable by the placement of the "Bros." text on the left side of the box-a detail that was later shifted to the right in all subsequent printings for aesthetic purposes. The packaging has mild corner wear, but is in excellent condition overall, with most of the seal intact. The game itself is a landmark title in the medium, often hailed as one of the greatest video games ever made. A brilliant follow-up to Super Mario Bros. 2, it introduced overworld maps, the mischievous Koopa Kids, and memorable new power-ups, such as the Super Leaf, which let Mario take flight for the first time. The game was a massive commercial success, selling over 17 million units worldwide, and its reveal as the featured contest game in The Wizard (1989) helped confirm its legendary status.Auction Info
