Popeye - Wata 9.0 CIB [Hangtab, 1 Code, Mid-Production], NES Nintendo 1986 USA. [Box: 8.5; Manual: 9.0; Cart: 9.2; Overall: 9.0] "I yam what I yam an' that's all I am!" Stock up on your spinach! Adapted from Nintendo's own 1982 coin-op classic, Popeye for the NES is a fantastic port that puts players in the role of the celebrated sailor, climbing ladders, catching hearts and other items released by Olive Oyl, eating spinach, and punching out Brutus, the Sea Hag, and the buzzard Bernard. The lovable little Swee'Pea even makes an appearance! Originally, Donkey Kong was going to be a Popeye game, but the rights weren't ironed out. Luckily, the situation was resolved, and this game followed a couple of years later. The box has just a few light corner and edge wear spots, but it looks fantastic overall.
