Pocket Monsters Pikachu - VGA 90+ NM+/MT Unopened, Game Boy Nintendo 1998 JPN. Released exclusively in Japan more than a year before its North American counterpart, Pocket Monsters Pikachu is the original edition of what Western audiences would come to know as Pokémon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition. As a true first edition, it marked a pivotal moment in the franchise, bridging the gap between the games and the wildly popular anime. This enhanced reimagining of Red and Green placed Pikachu-Ash's beloved companion-front and center, serving as the sole starter Pokémon and faithfully trailing the player throughout the journey with expressive reactions. The game featured updated character sprites, integrated Team Rocket's iconic duo Jessie and James, and even offered compatibility with the Game Boy Printer to produce hard copies of Pokédex entries.
