Mega Man - Wata 9.0 CIB ["Dr. Wright" Misprint, Captain Commando Sticker, First Production], NES Capcom 1987 USA. [Box: 8.5; Manual: 9.2; Cart: 9.0; Overall: 9.0] This first-production copy of one of the most iconic third-party titles for the Nintendo Entertainment System stands as a true collector's item. Its first-production status is confirmed by the rare "Dr. Wright" misprint, which was corrected to "Dr. Wily" in later releases. According to Wata's August 2024 population report, no complete-in-box copies of this variant are graded higher out of the 14 recorded. The box remains in nice condition, with only minor corner and edge wear. Mega Man's lasting influence on the platforming genre cements this lot as a must-have for serious collectors. The writing impressions on the box are very light.
