Gyromite (NES, Nintendo, 1985) Wata 7.5 CIB (Complete in Box).
    • Box: Wata 8.5; Hangtab, No NES-GP, No Code, No NES TM, No Rev-A, Round Seal of Quality
    • Cartridge: Wata 7.0; 5-screw, Round Seal of Quality, No Code, No NES TM, No Made in Japan, Title TM
    • Manual: Wata 6.5; Round Seal of Quality, Printed in Japan, No Code, Year, Caution Highlighted

    Overall Grade: Wata 7.5

This is one of the earliest prints of Gyromite, which can be noted by the lack of any codes or Nintendo Entertainment System console trademarks. Even though the back of the cartridge contained within this example has some slight discoloration, as noted on the Wata label, this is still an excellent example of one of the launch titles for the NES.

Gyromite was available as a standalone to be purchased separately from the NES, but it also came packaged with the NES Deluxe Set. Even though Gyromite, is not known for its gameplay in particular, Nintendo's success at creating a positive image in the North American market following the video game crash of 1983 is largely contributed to the accessory required to play Gyromite in single player mode, R.O.B. the Robot.

R.O.B. (Robotic Operating Buddy), has been dubbed as Nintendo's benevolent "Trojan Horse" by many. In February 1986, an independent research firm followed up with 200 purchasers of the Nintendo Entertainment System. Of those 200 people 26% said their child asked for it, and 19% said their child asked for it because of R.O.B. Stack Up is the only other game that supports gameplay with R.O.B.
