Rare First-Production Gem From Konami's Glory Days
Gradius - CGC 9.2 A+ Sealed [Hangtab, "Made in Japan" Omitted,
First Production], NES Konami 1986 USA. This is the only sealed
first-production copy of Gradius that we've ever offered,
featuring the coveted hangtab packaging from the game's initial
production phase. The hangtab box design was phased out by Nintendo
in late 1987 as part of a shift toward sturdier, more streamlined
packaging without the built-in retail hook-making early, rarely
graded examples like this especially collectible. As one of the
most iconic and influential shooters of the era, Gradius set
the standard for side-scrolling space combat with its intense
gameplay, strategic power-up system, and memorable boss battles. A
major arcade hit, it helped solidify Konami's footprint on the NES
with this excellent home console port. The box has some minor
corner wear, as well as well as a very light surface impression on
the front cover that runs from the title down to the middle of the
ships, but it looks fantastic overall. CGC notes, "5-Screw
