A standout among NES action-platformers, the game reimagined Capcom's 1987 arcade title with an expanded narrative, fresh mechanics, and a stage-selection map that added depth and replayability. As the spiritual successor to Commando, the story shifted to the daring rescue of Super Joe, placing players in control of a new protagonist equipped with the series' signature innovation: a grappling bionic arm.
