    Description

    Welcome Back Kotter Pre-Production Prototype Toy Group (Mego and others, c. 1970s). This group of Welcome Back Kotter prototypes comes from the collection of sculptor Gene Salamacha. Includes four different small prototype character heads of Barbarino (John Travolta), three in plaster and one in hard pink plastic; one large Barbarino head in plaster (about 4.5" tall), plus two more heads we can't identify (both in hard vinyl, one with painted hair); three versions of a piece including small figures of Barbarino, Horshack, Epstein and Washington surrounding Mr. Kotter -- the original hand-sculpted clay (includes Lucite/wood display case), plaster, and hard pink vinyl. The heads average Very Good condition. A large Barbarino rag doll with soft vinyl head is also included; it measures approximately 17" tall, and is in Excellent condition. To round out the collection, there are several invoices, letters, and envelopes, several with Mego logos. A true treasure trove for the Kotter/Mego collector! From the Gene Salamacha Collection.
