The Brave and the Bold #28 Justice League of America (DC, 1960) CGC VF/NM 9.0 Off-white pages. The first appearance of the Justice League of America is a book that's never been in higher demand, now that the group has reached household name status thanks to the upcoming movie.
Alas, that also means that owners of high grade copies are reluctant to part with a book that might increase in value even more -- luckily we have an exception to that offered here, and offered without reserve, we hasten to add.
Since the movie will be Aquaman's first film appearance, we should mention here that this comic was the first time Aquaman appeared on a comic book cover -- a somewhat amazing statistic since the character had been appearing in interior stories continuously since 1941!
Rounding out the charter members are Wonder Woman, the Flash, the Martian Manhunter, and also the Silver Age Green Lantern, the latter making only his fourth appearance, in a book that pre-dates Green Lantern #1. The famous cover is by Mike Sekowsky and Murphy Anderson. Overstreet 2017 VF/NM 9.0 value = $48,500; NM- 9.2 value = $80,000. CGC census 11/17: 9 in 9.0, 5 higher. From the Douglas Schmell Collection.
