The Avengers #1 Pacific Coast pedigree (Marvel, 1963) CGC NM+ 9.6 Off-white pages. An amazing, high-grade and pedigreed copy of the first appearance of the Avengers, the superhero dream team currently making waves in one of the highest-grossing movies of all time. In its debut incarnation, the team was composed of Thor, Iron Man, Ant-Man, Wasp, and the Hulk -- the latter of whom had been framed by the miscreant Loki, leading to the team's formation. The Teen Brigade and Fantastic Four also make appearances. The memorable cover is by Jack Kirby, with interior art by Kirby and Dick Ayers. This copy ties with two others for the status of highest-graded copy certified by CGC to date. It's the nicest copy we've ever had the opportunity to offer, topping the 9.4 NM we offered almost a decade ago. Overstreet 2012 NM- 9.2 value = $25,000. CGC census 7/12: 3 in 9.6, none higher.
