    Description

The Avengers #1 (Marvel, 1963) CGC VF/NM 9.0 Off-white to white pages. Marvel assembled established stars to form a super-group for the first time since the debut of the All-Winners Squad in 1946. Similar to the 2012 feature film, Marvel's finest (Iron Man, the Hulk, Thor, Ant-Man, and the Wasp) joined forces to put a stop to the machinations of Thor's evil half-brother, Loki. This was so early in the Silver Age that Iron Man is still wearing his gold armor. This is a stunning high-grade copy of a super-key Marvel issue, currently ranked #12 on Overstreet's list of Top 50 Silver Age Comics. Overstreet 2019 VF/NM 9.0 value = $27,500; NM- 9.2 value = $45,000. CGC census 5/20: 21 in 9.0, 28 higher.
