    Description

Tales of Suspense #39 (Marvel, 1963) CBCS NM- 9.2 White pages. To date, we have only offered four copies that have graded higher than this seductive copy of a very hot book indeed (none of which had a "White" pages designation). It's the first appearance and origin of Iron Man, with cover art by Jack "King" Kirby and "Dashing" Don Heck. This key is so much in demand that it continues to stay ahead of the Overstreet values, and while this copy is being auctioned without reserve, and the high bidder is guaranteed to take it home, we sincerely doubt that the "top of Guide" value of $42,000 will be enough to win it. Currently TOS #39 sits at the #9 spot on Overstreet's list of Top 50 Silver Age Comics. Overstreet 2015 NM- 9.2 value = $42,000. CGC census 3/16: 13 in 9.2, 25 higher.
