    Description

X-Men #1 (Marvel, 1963) CGC VF- 7.5 Cream to off-white pages. All things mutant sprang from this important first issue. Little did anyone realize back in the 1960s just how huge the mutant movement would eventually become. After only 66 issues, the title fell into reprints, and eventual cancellation, before being revived, like a Phoenix from the ashes, at the hands of Chris Claremont and Dave Cockrum in 1975. Not even Stan "The Man" Lee, could have predicted the ultimate success of this title which went on to become the runaway best seller of the '80's and '90's... decades in which mutants seemed to propagate like rabbits. The origin story and first appearance of the X-Men and Magneto, as rendered by the master, Jack Kirby. Overstreet 2013 VF 8.0 value = $9,000. CGC census 5/14: 61 in 7.5, 150 higher.
