The Incredible Hulk #1 (Marvel, 1962) CGC VG 4.0 Off-white to white pages. The cover promised "The Strangest Man of All Time!!", and that's just what the book delivered, with the origin and first appearance of the Incredible Hulk! Boy, that Gamma Radiation is a real doozy! Rick Jones, Betty Ross, and Thunderbolt Ross also make their first appearances in this opening issue of the series. Note the grey Hulk on the Jack Kirby cover -- Stan Lee wanted the Hulk to be grey, but due to ink problems, Hulk's color was changed to green, and was explained later by noting that the Grey Hulk persona and the Green Hulk persona were battling it out in Bruce Banner's sub-conscious, and due to his superior strength, the Green Hulk (aka "Savage Hulk") won most of the time, thus showing the "Savage Hulk" persona more often.
Currently Hulk #1 is ranked as the #2 book on Overstreet's list of Top 50 Silver Age Comics. Overstreet 2017 VG 4.0 value = $9,000. CGC census 11/17: 95 in 4.0, 389 higher.
