The Flash #105 (DC, 1959) CGC NM 9.4 Cream to off-white pages. This is the first Silver Age issue of the series, and a book that's tough to find in any high grade -- as of this writing, this is one of just five copies certified above 8.0! Being tied for the highest-graded copy of one of Overstreet's Top 10 Silver Age Books, this is one of the standout highlights of our auction.
It had been 10 years since Flash Comics ended its Golden Age run with #104, and DC didn't exactly rush the new Flash into this new title -- as his debut in Showcase #4 (9-10/56) was followed by further tryouts in #8 (5-6/57), #13 (4/58), and #14 (6/58)... and even then it took another eight months for this title to appear! But the book did give kids the bonus of introducing a memorable new villain, that future Rogues' Gallery regular the Mirror Master. Carmine Infantino provided both cover and interior art. Overstreet 2011 NM- 9.2 value = $18,000. CGC census 8/11: 2 in 9.4, none higher.
