    The Avengers #1 (Marvel, 1963) CGC VF 8.0 Off-white to white pages. The Guide values (at least in higher grades) have yet to catch up with the prices being paid for this high-demand book. It's the origin and first appearance of those stars of print and screen -- the Avengers (Thor, Iron Man, Hulk, Ant-Man, and Wasp). Loki, the Teen Brigade, and the Fantastic Four make courtesy appearances in this first issue, and Jack Kirby provided both cover and interior art for the series introduction. Overstreet 2013 VF 8.0 value = $7,200. CGC census 2/14: 35 in 8.0, 73 higher.
