    Description

The Amazing Spider-Man #5 (Marvel, 1963) CGC NM 9.4 Off-white to white pages. This book's white cover, its significance and of course its grade make it an attractive buy for the Silver Age Marvel collector. It's the first appearance of Doctor Doom outside of The Fantastic Four (the FF makes a brief cameo in the issue). In the story, Doom wants Spider-Man to help him battle the FF, but by the end of the issue he's accidentally corralled Flash Thompson, who's hamming it up in a Spidey costume! The cover and interior art are by Steve Ditko. Overstreet 2005 NM- 9.2 value = $3,200. CGC census 4/05: 7 in 9.4, 5 higher.
