    Description

The Amazing Spider-Man #47 (Marvel, 1967) CGC NM/MT 9.8 Off-white to white pages. We can't believe how many times we're typing "9.8" as we write up this run! This particular issue's well remembered for the scene of Flash Thompson's going-away party, with Mary Jane Watson and Gwen Stacy shaking their groove things as only artist John Romita Sr. could portray. Crashing the party with his usual jungle juju was our cover guy Kraven the Hunter, and fisticuffs with Spidey ensued. Here's a copy worth fighting over! Overstreet 2011 NM- 9.2 value = $350. CGC census 8/11: 8 in 9.8, none higher. From the Edward M. Sarley Collection.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
