    Description

The Amazing Spider-Man #31 (Marvel, 1965) CGC NM+ 9.6 Off-white to white pages. In this series more than any other, the members of the supporting cast became like old friends to the loyal reader. This issue has no less than three key characters making their first appearances. First there's Gwen Stacy, Peter's future love interest until that fateful day when... (sniff) sorry, give us a moment and a hankie, we're still not over it. Harry Osborn also debuts; he and Peter Parker were both friends and foes over the years, to put it mildly. And then there's the debut of Professor Warren, who proved to be a friend and a foe as well. But before you think the issue is one big meet-and-greet: Spider-Man has to solve the crimes of the Master Planner. The cover and interior art are by Steve Ditko. As of this writing, not a single copy of this issue has been certified with a higher grade by CGC. Overstreet 2004 NM- 9.2 value = $390. CGC census 12/04: 8 in 9.6, none higher. From the Northern Lights Collection.
