    Description

The Amazing Spider-Man #1 (Marvel, 1963) CGC VF- 7.5 White pages. Marvel's most famous and enduring character debuted in his own title and made only his second appearance overall here. This book is ranked as the seventh most-valuable Silver Age book by Overstreet. The cover is billed as a team effort between Steve Ditko and Jack Kirby -- it would appear that Jack did the layouts, and Steve took care of the rest. The Fantastic Four don't suspect Spidey's "real power," so Amazing Fantasy #15 must have sold out before they could get a copy. But don't you miss out on a very attractive specimen of this key #1 issue. Overstreet 2018 VF 8.0 value = $18,000. CGC census 8/18: 56 in 7.5, 107 higher.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
