    Description

The Amazing Spider-Man #1 (Marvel, 1963) CGC FN/VF 7.0 Off-white to white pages. Marvel's most famous and enduring character debuted in his own title and made only his second appearance overall right here. This book is ranked as the seventh most-valuable Silver Age book by Overstreet, and the cover is billed as a team effort between Steve Ditko and Jack Kirby -- it would appear that Jack did the layouts, and Steve took care of the rest. The book also contains a retelling of Spidey's origin, the first appearances of supporting character J. Jonah Jameson, and of the villainous Chameleon, and it also contains the first Fantastic Four crossover. Don't miss out on this very attractive specimen of this key #1 issue. Overstreet 2018 FN 6.0 value = $7,200; VF 8.0 value = $18,000. CGC census 11/18: 85 in 7.0, 167 higher.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
