    Description

The Amazing Spider-Man #1 (Marvel, 1963) CGC FN/VF 7.0 Off-white to white pages. Here's the first issue of what has become the most collected series in comics. Notable first appearances include J. Jonah Jameson, his astronaut son John Jameson (the future Man-Wolf, we might add), and this issue's villain, the Chameleon. Also of note is the Fantastic Four's first appearance outside of their own title -- Spidey tries to join the group but the pay (namely zero) isn't to his liking. There's also a retelling of the Webslinger's origin for everyone who missed Amazing Fantasy #15. The cover is a collaboration between Steve Ditko and Jack Kirby, with the interior art all in the hands of Ditko. Overstreet 2005 FN 6.0 value = $2,625; VF 8.0 value = $8,750. CGC census 5/05: 23 in 7.0, 84 higher.
