Tales to Astonish #27 (Marvel, 1962) CGC VF- 7.5 Off-white pages. Among the major early-1960s Marvel "origin issues" only Fantastic Four #1 preceded this issue, which featured the first appearance of Henry Pym, later know as Ant-Man. It would be a few issues before he returned to assume his superhero persona. The Marvel movie franchise has resulted in a rekindling of interest in the character, and this issue currently ranks #10 on Overstreet's Top 50 Silver Age Comics list, just behind the origin issues of Tales of Suspense #39 (Iron Man) and X-Men #1. It's one of the harder origin issues to find in high grade. In fact, we've never offered a copy nicer than VF 8.0! Jack Kirby cover. Kirby and Steve Ditko art. Overstreet 2018 VF 8.0 value = $12,200. CGC census 7/19: 22 in 7.5, 34 higher.
