Tales of Suspense #39 (Marvel, 1963) CGC NM/MT 9.8 White pages. This makes the short list of most desirable Silver Age Marvels we have offered in our history. It is the single highest graded copy of Iron Man's first appearance and origin! In addition to the extraordinary grade, the eye appeal is off the charts as this is possibly the best-centered copy we have ever seen, with the quotation marks around "Iron Man" in the cover blurb almost fully present and accounted for. This comic is a true pop culture grail thanks to Iron Man's success on movie screens, and it is the ninth most valuable comic on Overstreet's Top 50 Silver Age Comics list. Jack Kirby and Don Heck created the more-than-iconic cover, with Heck and Marvel mainstays Steve Ditko and Gene Colan providing interior story art for the issue.
