    Tales of Suspense #39 (Marvel, 1963) CBCS FN/VF 7.0 White pages. The origin and first appearance of Iron Man (Tony Stark), "the newest, most breathtaking, most sensational superhero of all!" A very attractive copy and a nice example of an early Marvel classic. This issue features the first appearance of Wong Chu, Iron Man's first villain, and the first appearance and death of Professor Yinsen. Jack Kirby and Don Heck did the cover, while Heck, Steve Ditko, and Gene Colan did the interior art. Currently issue #39 is #8 on Overstreet's list of Top 20 Silver Age Comics. Overstreet 2014 FN 6.0 value = $3,300; VF 8.0 value = $9,000. CGC census 5/15: 51 in 7.0, 169 higher.
