Tales of Suspense #39 Don/Maggie Thompson Collection pedigree (Marvel, 1963) CGC NM 9.4 Off-white to white pages. Between the CGC grades 8.0 and 9.2, there's relatively more of this issue than other early Marvel "keys," but at 9.4, this copy goes to another level. The most recent copy we offered in this grade sold for over $80,000! The issue itself has moved up a couple of notches on Overstreet's Top 20 Silver Age Comics list in recent years, currently holding down eighth place. Its importance is for the first appearance and origin of Iron Man (Tony Stark). Jack Kirby's cover is complemented by interior art from Don Heck, Steve Ditko, and Gene Colan.
