Showcase #7 Challengers of the Unknown (DC, 1957) CGC VF+ 8.5 White pages. The second appearance of the Challengers of the Unknown came with a Jack Kirby cover that's essentially a primer for the Kirby "style", and it really stands out on this high-grade copy. We've offered a nicer copy (a 9.2) on just one previous occasion. The Challengers were the first Silver Age superhero team, preceding Kirby's more famous collaboration with Stan Lee, the Fantastic Four, by nearly five years. Kirby also furnished the story art, with assistance from wife Roz. Overstreet 2007 VF 8.0 value = $1,292; VF/NM 9.0 value = $2,246. CGC census 1/08: 1 in 8.5, 3 higher.CGC Grader Notes:
