Showcase #22 Green Lantern (DC, 1959) CGC NM- 9.2 Cream to off-white pages. One of the most remarkable Silver Age DCs we have offered in our history, this is the sole highest-graded copy of the origin and first appearance of the Silver Age Green Lantern, Hal Jordan. This is a book that's pretty tough to find in any grade above Fine, never mind Near Mint Minus!
The book was editor Julius Schwartz's second Golden Age revival after the Flash's reincarnation in issue #4 of this same series. Gil Kane was the perfect choice to illustrate the series, and he also provided the cover. Green Lantern would appear in two more issues of Showcase before going on to his own title.
Green Lantern has been the star of a feature film, and no doubt it's only a matter of time until he appears in another one. Other media aside, he has been one of the key DC characters for almost 60 years now, and securing the highest-graded copy of a key hero will confer serious bragging rights on the next owner.
