Description
Luke Cage, Hero for Hire group lot (Marvel, 1972). Presented here is quite a significant group of books, due to their influence on Nicolas Cage's professional name. During his youth, his favorite comics included Luke Cage, Hero for Hire, a successful series that featured one of Marvel's earliest black superheroes. This fondness carried over when Nicolas later became an actor, and decided to change his last name to match that of his favorite hero. Contained within this lot are his personal copies, including some duplicates and lower grades that may have been the actual ones he purchased off the stands in the early 1970s. Of the many comics offered in this sale, we think it's safe to say these books were the closest to his heart.
