    Description

Fantastic Four #3 (Marvel, 1962) CGC VF/NM 9.0 Off-white to white pages. After wearing civilian clothing for two issues, the Fantastic Four donned more of a "superhero" look in this third issue -- the Thing even got a costume and mask (which subsequently only lasted a couple of pages). It's also the first appearance of the Fantasti-Car (as it was initially spelled) and the FF's headquarters (not yet called the Baxter Building). The villain is one Miracle Man, who wouldn't pop up again until issue #138. The cover (which has the Human Torch appearing with two left hands) and art are by Jack Kirby. Overstreet 2015 VF/NM 9.0 value = $7,550; NM- 9.2 value = $12,000. CGC census 3/16: 9 in 9.0, 15 higher. From the Long Beach Collection.
