Description

Fantastic Four #2 White Mountain pedigree (Marvel, 1962) CGC NM+ 9.6 Off-white to white pages. This is the best copy we've ever offered of issue #2, one of Overstreet's top 20 Silver Age books. The yellow background really glows on this near-perfect pedigreed copy. The light-blue "floor" area of the image tends to be smudged and discolored on the average copy of this book, but this specimen is flawless.
This is one of the earliest superhero issues Marvel ever published, and the last FF to have a 10-cent cover price. The story features the first appearance of the shape-shifting Skrulls, the major alien menace of the Marvel universe, as well as the second appearance of the Fantastic Four -- it's so early in their career that they're still fighting evil in their street clothes. The cover and art are, naturally, by the mighty Jack Kirby. Overstreet 2012 NM- 9.2 value = $12,000. CGC census 7/12: 3 in 9.6, none higher. From the Doug Schmell / PedigreeComics.com Collection.
