Description
Fantastic Four #17-32 Bound Volume (Marvel, 1963-64). Includes issues #17-32 of Fantastic Four trimmed and bound into a single hardcover volume. By this point in the title's run, Stan Lee and Jack Kirby were firing on all cylinders, with this volume featuring the first appearances of the Super Skrull, Rama-Tut, Molecule Man, and Diablo, plus the return of Dr. Doom, the Sub-Mariner, Mole Man, the Hulk, the Puppet Master, and more. In addition to a who's who of villains, early Avengers and X-Men crossover appearances are also included.The covers all show a fair amount of handling/reading wear, but they are generally supple and glossy, with some color transfer from the cover of #17 to the preceding end sheet and a hole in the cover to #24. The interior pages range from cream to tan, with only a few instances of staining or tearing and virtually no cases of Marvel chipping. There is a half-page bound between issues #31-32, noting that it is "registered volume number 134" from Bote Productions, Inc., and there is some color transfer from the cover of #32 to this sheet. The volume features sturdy Smyth (sewn) binding and a black cloth cover that is free of scuffing, and has "Fantastic Four " and "Issues 17-32" embossed on the spine. Approximate Overstreet 2023 VG 4.0 value = $2,000.
