The origin and first appearance of the Fantastic Four, Marvel's first superhero team, created as a response to DC's launch of the Justice League of America. Stan Lee and Jack Kirby opted for a more down-to-earth team, presenting their heroes as a dysfunctional family of sorts. Also featured is the origin and first appearance of the villainous Mole Man. The cover and interior art are by Kirby. A key Silver Age comic, currently rated #3 on Overstreet's list of Top 50 Silver Age Comics. Overstreet 2015 VG 4.0 value = $4,400; FN 6.0 value = $8,400.
