Description

Fantastic Four #1 (Marvel, 1961) CGC VF+ 8.5 White pages. The origin and first appearance of the Fantastic Four, Marvel's first superhero team, effectively launched the Marvel Age, and issue #1 is much rarer in this grade than the other Marvel "origin" issues of the early 1960s. In fact, we have only offered two higher-graded copies of issue #1 since 2017! Also featured here is the origin and first appearance of Mole Man. Of course, Jack Kirby provided the cover and interior art for the famous issue -- the first issue of Marvel's flagship title. Issue #1 is currently ranked #3 on Overstreet's list of Top 50 Silver Age Comics. Overstreet 2022 VF 8.0 value = $46,000; VF/NM 9.0 value = $128,000. CGC census 5/22: 20 in 8.5, 19 higher.
From the Truckee Meadows Collection.
