Captain Atom #83 (Charlton, 1966) CGC NM/MT 9.8 White pages. It's the first appearance of the Silver Age Blue Beetle, Ted Kord. And we'll bet you didn't know how few 9.8s there are! This issue includes a Steve Ditko story, cover, and art. While the recent Blue Beetle film centers on the more modern Jaime Reyes, Kord still plays a large role, with Kord Industries and the Kord family appearing throughout, and Ted appearing in a post-credits voice cameo. It's probably fair to say the Blue Beetle might well have been forgotten if this Ditko version had not brought him back to the fore. Overstreet 2023 NM- 9.2 value = $1,250.
