Origin and First Appearance of Spider-Man

Amazing Fantasy #15 (Marvel, 1962) CGC VF- 7.5 Off-white pages. Without question, this is the most sought-after comic book printed during the Silver Age. Many factors make this issue tough to find in decent grade, including low distribution, cover layout, low paper quality, and the infamous "Marvel chipping". Because Spidey's first appearance happened to be in the final issue of a failing monster title, its print run was considerably lower than traditional key issues, making this a particularly special find. Rendered with an unusual array of brown and gray colors on the front cover that easily smudge and show wear, makes the book very susceptible to amateur restoration. But this copy is one of the few that was fortunate enough to survive the ages untouched and in high grade. There is no "Marvel chipping" on this copy, and very few imperfections. The corners are sharp, and the color registration is very nice. A truly amazing book, this copy can be had for a fraction of what slightly better copies cost. Overstreet 2002 VF 8.0 value = $13,200.
