    Description

Amazing Fantasy #15 (Marvel, 1962) CGC VF- 7.5 Cream to off-white pages. It's ranked #1 in value among all Silver Age books, this presentation of Spider-Man's origin and first appearance. It hasn't always been thus. For years Showcase #4, now regarded as the book that launched the Silver Age, was ranked #1. Marvel's first serious foray came with Fantastic Four, but the first issue of that run has been overtaken and left in the wake of Amazing Fantasy #15. One of the few Marvel "premier" books of the early 1960s not drawn by Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko deservedly got the call and proceeded to create the classic Spider-Man look for the first three years of the title's run. This nice copy, while displaying enough minor stresses to keep it from challenging in the Near Mint range, still ranks within the top 15% of all copies of the landmark issue that CGC has graded to date. Overstreet 2002 VF 8.0 value = $13,200.
