Description

Amazing Fantasy #15 (Marvel, 1962) CGC FN/VF 7.0 Off-white to white pages. The most valuable Silver Age comic book, by far, and the gap between it and issues 2-10 is widening year by year. Not only is it in high demand, high-grade copies are just so scarce! Only 20 copies have earned as high a grade as VF/NM 9.0. At FN/VF 7.0, this ranks as the third highest-graded Universal copy we've offered in over 18 months, and if the past few decades are any indicator, it will go for well over Guide. Why? It's the origin and first appearance of Spider-Man! It also introduced Uncle Ben and Aunt May. Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko combined for the classic cover, with Ditko providing the interior art. The issue is notorious for Marvel "chipping" along the right side, but here the edge is super-clean and straight, without a hint of chipping. Overstreet 2017 FN 6.0 value = $28,000; VF 8.0 value = $80,000. CGC census 11/17: 47 in 7.0, 91 higher.
